Common questions

Is Wayfarer free?

Yes. Wayfarer is free to download and use, with no adverts.

Do I need an account?

No. You can start collecting straight away as a guest. Creating an account (just your email address, no password) keeps your collection safe if you change or lose your phone. Anything you collected as a guest moves into your account when you sign in.

Why can't I check in?

If you're definitely there and it still won't let you in, the pin may be in the wrong place. Please email us the name of the place so we can move it.

A place is missing, or the details are wrong

Wayfarer covers the National Trust's visitor places in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, built from the Trust's open data. If something's missing or wrong, let us know.

Can I add visits from before I had the app?

Not yet. A place is collected when you check in there.

My sign-in code hasn't arrived

Codes come from wayfarer@appifieduk.com and usually arrive within a minute. Check your spam or junk folder. Each code only works for a few minutes, so if it's been a while, ask the App for a new one.

Is Wayfarer on Android?

Not yet. It's on iPhone for now.

Is this the National Trust's app?

No. Wayfarer is an independent app, not affiliated with or endorsed by the National Trust. You'll still need membership or a ticket to visit places as usual. Check opening times on the National Trust website before you set off.

How do I delete my account?

In the App, open the Me tab and tap Delete account. This permanently deletes your account and your collection straight away. You can also email us and we'll do it for you. See our privacy policy for more on how we handle your data.
